i am a uk citizen wanting to work in las vegas, do you need a work visa in order to obtain a sheriffs card and business lisence?

If not, it should certainly be a requirement since you cannot lawfully work in the US with a proper visa.

You need an E-1 visa in order to open a business. To get one you have to invest at least $500,000 in the business and create a certain number of US jobs. Otherwise you are not going to get one. If you can afford to invest that kind of money, consult an immigration lawyer. There are no casino jobs other than for world famous entertainers that need to sponsor immigration.
