About what do you have to do to work in a casino in Las Vegas

What do you have to do to work in a casino in Las Vegas?
I am moving to Las Vegas in 6 months. My question is what do I have to do first to work in a casino. How much is the course at the dealer school and how long does it take. Also, do you first have to have a Nevada drivers license to work in Las Vegas at a casino. Is there anything else that you need. I will be working at another job until I am either called or placed. Any information on this will be helpful. Thanks

Answer 1 :
If you are going to work the tables you have to get a dealers license.
Answer 2 :
There are a lot of jobs in casinos. The people who empty the ash trays, cocktail servers, slot mechanics, security, dealers, pit bosses, managers. All jobs will require you to have a sheriff's card, which you obtain from the police dept. Casinos don't hire anyone who has a criminal history that involves stealing.
Answer 3 :
Yes you need a Sherrif's Card, TAM card (TECHNIQUES OF ALCOHOL MANAGEMENT CARD) and most likely (depending on employer), a health card as well. The Sherrif's card is 45$, the TAM card could be free if you have an employer set up, if not, it's 20$. But i know for sure you need a Sherrif's card to do any type of work in the casino. Dealer school i know two of them below, they are pretty good from what people say but i never been. How long it takes, well it depends on how many games you want to learn to play but courses are around $300 to $500 bucks again depending on how many games you want to learn. Give them a call and see what they say. Good Luck!
