About what do you have to do to work in a casino in Las Vegas

What do you have to do to work in a casino in Las Vegas?
I am moving to Las Vegas in 6 months. My question is what do I have to do first to work in a casino. How much is the course at the dealer school and how long does it take. Also, do you first have to have a Nevada drivers license to work in Las Vegas at a casino. Is there anything else that you need. I will be working at another job until I am either called or placed. Any information on this will be helpful. Thanks

Answer 1 :
If you are going to work the tables you have to get a dealers license.
Answer 2 :
There are a lot of jobs in casinos. The people who empty the ash trays, cocktail servers, slot mechanics, security, dealers, pit bosses, managers. All jobs will require you to have a sheriff's card, which you obtain from the police dept. Casinos don't hire anyone who has a criminal history that involves stealing.
Answer 3 :
Yes you need a Sherrif's Card, TAM card (TECHNIQUES OF ALCOHOL MANAGEMENT CARD) and most likely (depending on employer), a health card as well. The Sherrif's card is 45$, the TAM card could be free if you have an employer set up, if not, it's 20$. But i know for sure you need a Sherrif's card to do any type of work in the casino. Dealer school i know two of them below, they are pretty good from what people say but i never been. How long it takes, well it depends on how many games you want to learn to play but courses are around $300 to $500 bucks again depending on how many games you want to learn. Give them a call and see what they say. Good Luck! Answer 1 :
Yes, the money is probably not handled by the employer but by a trust the employer set up for the benefit of employess. It probably is highly protected. I believe the problem is that the 401K administrators don't have your new address, so you are not getting the statements. Call them to give them your new information. By the way, there are ways to transfer these funds to IRA's or other retirement plans (for example, a 401K with current employer), without any tax penalties. Ask your current retirement plan administrator or bank officer. They do these tranfers every day.
Answer 2 :
He needs to set up an IRA with Schwab (great company, more choices), Fidelity( good mutual funds), or Vanguard( good mutual funds). The company will have him sign the papers to do a roll over from the 401(k) into the IRA. They will take care of everything for you.

About how often do substitute teachers in Las Vegas work

How often do substitute teachers in Las Vegas work?
I'm thinking about becoming a sub, but I'm just wondering how often I will get to work.

Answer 1 :
Nonstop. They are a huge district and subs are always in need. Plus, they are continuously short of teachers, so that adds more opportunities. I worked every day when I subbed.

About how doed Tahiti Village time share in Las Vegas work

How doed Tahiti Village time share in Las Vegas work?
I heard about Tahiti Village giving free hotel stays and tickits to free shows in Las Vegas. Has anyone done this and what is required when you get there? are there any required seminars or anything you have to buy to take advantage of this or is it just to get you to Vegas.

Answer 1 :
You will get to select FREE tickets to what ever show they offer. There are several top shows to pick from. You will have to sit through a 3 to 4 hour presentation, showing you the Village and then a hard sales presentation one on one. Not as a group. There will be three hard pitches to sell you on the Village. Then they will see what tickets are available. They you will get your tickets. Now if you are going to buy into Tahite Village, it's a good deal. Just don't buy on the first sales pitch. The price is kinda price-eee!!! Just keep tilling them NO!!! They will bring out another person with a lower price and try to sell you on it. Tell them NO!!! it's just out of your price range, or something like that. The third time they will bring out another person who will even lower the price even further. They will have some excuse of why it is so low. This will be the lowest they will go. If you buy into it, this is the time to do it. Good luck and have fun in VEGAS BABY....
Answer 2 :
We have been offered "free" show tickets to get them you have to take a tour of the Tahiti village and sit through a boring presentation, you have to be a couple and I think own your own home. My time is worth more to me than a couple of cheap seats for a show. I have to say I would love to have the balls to go and answer every question "I have no intention of buying anything please can I have my show tickets now" - LOL
Answer 3 :
It is all about getting you there to try and pressure/tricking you into the sale. My wife and I do those every year we are in Vegas because we run out of sh*t to do in the day and has only taken about an hour or so. Then we get some free tickets to shows and gift certificates.
Answer 4 :
This is a time share HARD sell presentation where you must be at for at least two hours. Tahiti Village is not on the Strip and not an easy walking distance. And what two shows? Some times it is better to pay your own way and be in total control of your vacation time. And find a great deal and stay on the Strip. A time share is like an apartment you have one week (or more) you buy to use the place. It is equipment with furniture and linens, etc., but you have to leave it the way you found it. It is similar to a motel but you have a financial (long tern) committment. And you don't just get to pick THE week you want, rather what is available. I would strongly suggest you think about it before you invest.
Answer 5 :
The announcement makes it look as though you will get something valuable for nothing. But that is not true. You will have to earn it by sitting through a long sales pitch, often of more than two hours, and frequently using high pressure tactics. For that, you will earn the cheapest of the "gifts" listed.
